Once upon a time there was little girl, pretty and dainty. But in summer time she was obliged to go barefooted because she was poor, and in winter she had to wear large wooden shoes, so that her little instep grew quite red.
Sergio talked to us about his trip to Poland. (Sergio please make a comment and upload photo). Guillermo´s story Melibea´s story THE SILLY WIND AND THE CLEVER SUNA fable by Aesop
In this fable the North Wind and the Sun was always arguing over which one was the stronger. One day the Sun saw how the North Wind tormented a man who was walking along the road. He was trying to blow the man´s hat off. However, instead of taking off his hat, the man put on his coat and held his hat firmly on his head. The sun began to laugh and said: "That man´s got one up on you". The North Wind was embarrassed and angry at the same time; so, he challenged to the sun: "I bet you can´t get him to take his coat and hat off either!". And the Sun answered: "Of course, I can do it better than you!". Now, It was the Sun´s turn. The Sun shone brighter and brighter. The man felt happiness, he smiled but he felt hot and the he took his hat and coat off. Finally the sun won the bet, and said wisely: "Gentle and kind persuasion win where force and bluster fail".
And next I leave you my power point presentation:
At 11,00 o´clock sharp a man a his wife in their early thirties entered the Police Station in Guadix. They wanted to report a missing black bag they had found at Guadix´ bus station. On questioning them the police could only receive vague answers. They didn´t know who it belonged to or had seen anything suspicious while they were waiting for a relative who was travelling from Granada. The police is clueless and has asked for some civilian cooperation to solve the mystery.... But can the contains of the backpack reveal the ownership of the bag? ( I WILL SHOW YOU THE BACKPACK IN CLASS)
SO... What´s the story?
Fran Urendez …“Sir, I believe I could give you some clues about the owner of the black bag”, I told to the policeman. “A few days ago, my uncle told me that his old friend Jake, a British man, was going to visit him”, I continued.
Last summer his friend had decided to come to the south of Spain, as a tourist. For that reason he flew from Bristol to Malaga with Ryanair. He was interested in knowing about the most typical places in Andalusia. His brother used to say: “travelling to Spain is the most exciting experience I’ve ever had”. He had thought about spending two weeks in Spain. If he had more free time, he would love to stay here for three or four weeks.
My uncle told me that his friend was a good reader and he loved meeting new people.
First, he would visit Granada. He had booked a hostel next to Plaza Nueva, so he could traipse all over the centre. He could walk around the Albaicin, the historical neighborhood which is famous in the whole world for its narrow and steep streets.
Moreover, he could taste some different meals and of course, one day, he could go tapas in the city centre.
After several days in Granada, he would travel to the Alpujarras so he could enjoy the wonderful scenery of these villages.
Finally, he would get on a bus and after crossing the Ragua’s mountain, he would arrive to the beautiful city of Guadix.
Then he had thought about meeting with my uncle and his wife, and probably he would sleep in a cave house. “Excuse me, I have a phone call. It’s my uncle…His friend Jake has just come to his house, and he is very worried. He has lost his black bag
Jesús Ruíz Sánchez
I told the policeman that I knew who could be the owner of the backpack, because a friend who has appartments for rent in Purullena told me he had a client who had lost his keys, somes guides, an mp3 and a few other things but he didn´t remember the place where he lost them.
So we went to see my friend Paco, the landlord of the appartments and we told him what had happened. Paco told us that John were going to be in Spain with his wife and his son for a week. They were visiting the Alpujarra, doing the olive oil route, the Albaicin and the Sacromonte because they were English and they had never seen a flamenco show and that they also wanted to admire the Alhambra at night.
Manolo, the receptionist, gave us his phone number and John answered. He was surprised because he had recovered his things but especially the keys. We had dinner together and John and his family invited us to their country to thank us for our hospitality. Next morning we went to Sierra Nevada where we stayed all day. On the following day they returned to Scotland on a Ryanair flight. Melibea Alarcón Bautista It was a warm July night. Joanne and I were eating “tapas” on a terrace in Granada. I was very worried because I had lost my bag. I didn’t remember where my bag was. Joanne didn’t know either. For me, it was very important to recover it, because in it I had many important things. For example, my son’s pacifier. My son is 23 years old but for me, his pacifier is the most valuable amulet I had ever had. Likewise, I had a very important book which my father had given to me several years ago. I wouldn’t like to lose them! I almost bursted into tears. “Don’t worry about it, we are going to look for it. I’m sure we will find it”, Joanne said to me. Then, we started to recall our trip.
We were spending three weeks in Andalusia. We set out from Bristol to Malaga. Firstly we went sightseeing to Malaga. After that, we visited Cádiz, Sevilla and Almería’s beaches. Wonderful! They were the best beaches we’ve ever seen in our lifes! Also, we took an olive oil tour, but we didn´t take an Andalusian wine tour because we don’t like wine, we prefer to drink beer and furthermore It was too expensive. Finally, we came to Granada. We had been in Granada for about 5 days and the day after tomorrow we were going to return to England. In Granada, briefly, we visited the Sacramento Caves, the Albaicín and San Nicolás viewpoint. It was lovely! If we hadn’t seen it with our own eyes, we wouldn´t have believed it! Also, we visited the Alpujarra and some of their villages.
In spite of us trying to remember where we had been, we still couldn’t guess where I could have forgotten my bag. Suddenly, the phone rang. It was my friend Tom who was in London. Gaudix police called him. By chance, they had seen his phone number in my notebook. “What a relief! Next time I will put my name and phone number in my bag. Prevention is better than cure!” I thought to myself. “Don’t you agree with me?”
CRISTINA RIVAS SAAVEDRA.
When I came back to my house, I Could hear the phone ringing, I was opening the door and Mum was talking on the phone. This is what I heard.
“ The Call
- P: Good afternoon , Are you Melissa?
- M: Yes I am.
- P: I am a policeman, I want to ask you some questions about the bus station.
- M: OH! OK, what are the questions?

- P: But Are you sure Mrs Melissa? The man in the ticket office gave us your telephone number, because one Melissa bought a ticket yesterday.
- M: Sorry, but the man is wrong
- P: OK, thankyou for your time “
My Mum hung up the phone and I asked about the call, she told me the story, but just then, she realized that the call was for me, because I am Melissa too.
“ Oh my God, you must go to the Police Office and tell what you know about this blac backpak” my mother said.
What happened whit the owner of the backpak?......Therefore I went to the Police Office and told everything I knew. I saw this backpak in the bus, a girl forgot it in her seat, she asked me about a Hotel in Granada. I helped her to locate the hotel on the map, and she asked about the caves of Sacromonte and Flamenco shows, I gave her a leafleft with that information. She was sad because her daughter and her husband were in “ La Alpujarra”, and she had gone to Granada to work for a few days.On the other hand, I was sleep when she got off the bus, when I woke up the bag was in the seat, but I didn´t seen it.
However, I have her telephone number, because we thought we could meet in Granada with her family and my husband too.
If I had seen the bag I would have taken it to my house.“ Do you have more question for me?No, thas all, the case of the black bacpak is resolved, Thankyou for you cooperation”
