Follow up the story
A man and his wife were once sitting by the door of their house, and they had a roasted chicken set before them, and were about to eat it together. Then the man saw that his aged father was coming, and hastily took the chicken and hid it, for he would not permit him to have any of it. The old man came, took a drink, and went away. Now the son wanted to put the roasted chicken on the table again, but...

One Hundred Years of Solitude
The novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez "One Hundred Years of Solitude" was written in 18 months between 1965 and 1966 in Mexico City and was first published in 1967 in Buenos Aires. He had the original idea for this novel in 1952 during a trip made to his hometown Arataca, accompanied by his mother. At first, he thought to call his novel "The House", but decided to call it " 100 Years of solitude", so that it did not look like another novel called "The Big House".The novel tells the story of the Buendia family over 7 generations in the village of Marcondo. Marquez wrote many novels but I think than "100 Years of Solitude" is the best novel of Marquez. If you read this novel, you will be surprided. If I had money I would go to Aravaca (Marcondo). This novel has more exaggerations than "Chronicle of a Foretold Death", another famous novel by Marquez.(by Manolo)

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE by Ana María Cruz Casas (2º CAL)
To start talking about this subject I would like to tell you that I like learning foreign languages, I always wanted to learn English and…here I am. I think this has mainly advantages but at the same time it has some disadvantages.
In the first place I want you to state what are the reasons that make it necessary to learn different languages: firstly, it allows you to travel to other countries to know their culture, their people, their customs. It also allows you to visit them with the freedom it gives you Knowing the language to communicate in that country. Secondly, knowing other languages gives you the posibility to find work in other different countries and it is and advantage especially important at this time of global economics crisis (credit cruch). For example, in Germany there is more work than in Spain but you can´t have access to it if you don’t speak the language.
The disadvantage of learning a foreign language ,for me, is just one. You need to spend some time working on it and, that is not always possible.
To conclude, I want to tell you that today´s economy, trade, business, studies are not conceived without foreign languages.
I like the English language and I have always wanted to learn it. Perhaps I am a little old for it but "better late than never".
